PCAD hears 2014 stats, looks ahead to 2015

The Pettis County Ambulance District spent about 20 hours in 2014 at “zero status” meaning an ambulance was not available, the PCAD Board of Directors learned Tuesday.

During the district’s regular meeting, PCAD Administrator Mike Gardner told the board zero status is common among ambulance districts and, “even with 10 ambulances you would always have some time when you were down.”

The report showed each month varied with August the lowest month (only 25 minutes of zero status) and July the highest with 290 minutes of zero status.

We’ll continue to work toward no minutes of zero status in 2015 but I’m happy with these numbers,” Gardner added.

The board also received an update on the Sedalia Police Department/PCAD dispatch merger. Gardner said things are on track to change by the February 1 deadline and that training for both departments could start as soon as next week.
