PCAD Station 2 nearly complete

The Pettis County Ambulance District’s first satellite station – Station 2 located at TT Highway and US 50 Highway – is nearing completion and scheduled to begin operations sometime next month.

The PCAD Board of Directors met at the new station for their regular meeting Tuesday to tour the building and discuss final touches.

“As you can tell it’s basically finished, except for furniture and equipment which will be delivered hopefully next week,” said PCAD Administrator Mike Gardner. “Staff is working hard right now to figure out what this station’s needs are and get everything delivered around the same time. The great thing is we don’t need to rush this opening.”

Station 2 will serve east Pettis County and give PCAD some much-needed space at its headquarters. Currently all PCAD employees are based out of the headquarters building at Kentucky and Fourth streets with a few stationed across the street at the PCAD Education Building.

“The (crews) are excited to see this finished,” Gardner said. “We’ve already worked out schedules and while we don’t have an official start date yet, it’s coming soon.”

During the meeting board members also heard from a representative from Wilson Toellner and received a good review of the district’s financial statements. This review showed positive cash flow and increases year-over-year of PCAD funds with a few minor exceptions.

The board also briefly discussed the Windsor station and noted an open house was planned for 11 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the station, 111 Jackson St. in Windsor. The public is welcome to attend and tour the recently renovated facility.
