PCAD to open Windsor station this month

During its regular meeting Tuesday the Pettis County Ambulance Board heard the district may be able to start serving the Windsor area within two weeks.

“I’m looking at the week of February 21 as the week we start providing ambulance services in the area,” PCAD Administrator Mike Gardner told the board.

PCAD took over for the Windsor Ambulance District in late December after coming to an agreement with WAD that it would handle medical services until WAD is ready to take back over operations, likely in a few years. Earlier this year PCAD has purchased a former residence to act as a Windsor station and Gardner told the board minor interior repairs to make the home more livable for a PCAD crew were nearly complete.

“There’s still some electrical work to be done and we need a few trees removed,” he said. “We’re also almost ready on the communications side and have also signed an agreement with Henry County Dispatch who will be dispatching our Windsor calls.”
